Dear partners,

In cooperation with Østfold County Council I have the pleasure to invite you to our final Conference in Brussels 8-9.November 2007. I’m sending this invitation to you as a contact person. Please forward the invitation to those from your municipality / district / county / institution who should participate in the meeting. You will find a draft agenda for the meeting and practical information about the arrangement as attachment to the invitation.

Aim of the conference
The aim of the conference is amongst other things the following:

• To present project results including results from the international HEPRO survey
• To  show the usefulness of the HEPRO toolkit
• To exchange knowledge and information
• To agree upon a follow up of HEPRO after the project period

We are focusing on the topic how to develop a sustainable public health policy based on the principles of Empowerment Planning – six steps to a successful and sustainable public health policy. Questions about communicative planning, using the toolkit and the survey for local and regional purposes will be discussed.  
The conference offers participants to discuss practical ways to reach the HEPRO targets understanding the basic principles and contents for HEPRO. It also represent a unique opportunity to meet all partners and thereby fulfilling the intention to establish a platform for trans-national cooperation.

Duration
The conference will take place two days and will consist of plenary sessions. The first day is reserved for HEPRO partners. The second day is an open day presenting the HEPRO results.

Who should participate?
We strongly encourage all partners to participate in the conference, particularly coordinators and personnel responsible for Health planning and Public Health matters. Politicians are also invited. Until six / seven persons from each partner can attend the conference.

Topics covered by the conference
The conference will cover essential questions related to the main idea behind the project? How is the output of HEPRO? What is the follow up after the project period?
